Urgent Security Alert for Apple Users in Pakistan! Update your iPhone, MacBook & other Apple devices NOW — or risk getting hacked.

Urgent Warning: Update Your iPhone, MacBook & Apple Devices Now to Avoid Hacking Risks

The Punjab Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) has released a high-priority security alert urging Apple users — including government officials, organizations, and the general public — to immediately install the latest Apple security updates.

According to the advisory, multiple critical vulnerabilities have been discovered in Apple’s operating systems and devices. If left unpatched, these flaws could allow hackers to launch cyberattacks, gain unauthorized access, and even take complete control of affected devices.

What Makes This Update Critical?

The vulnerabilities could result in:

  • Remote code execution

  • Full device takeover

  • Sensitive data leaks

  • Bypassing of core security protections

Apple has already released fixes addressing these security loopholes. Among them:

  • CVE-2025-31229: A logic issue resolved with stronger verification.

  • CVE-2025-43222: A “use-after-free” flaw patched by removing vulnerable code.

  • CVE-2025-43217: A bug that affected microphone and camera privacy indicators.

  • CVE-2025-43186: An error that caused certain apps to crash unexpectedly.

Devices & Software Receiving Updates

The latest patches cover a wide range of Apple products and platforms, including:

  • iOS 18.6 (iPhone)

  • iPadOS 18.6 (iPad)

  • macOS Sequoia 15.6

  • macOS Sonoma 14.7.7

  • macOS Ventura 13.7.7

  • watchOS 11.6

  • tvOS 18.6

  • visionOS 2.6

  • iPad 17.79

  • Safari 18.6

Punjab CERT has classified the severity level as “major”, stressing that failure to update could put both personal and national digital security at risk.

Why You Should Update Immediately

If updates are not installed, users face serious risks including:

  • Compromise of personal or organizational data

  • Unauthorized access to confidential files

  • Exploitation by cybercriminals for surveillance

  • Possibility of attackers gaining complete device control

What Users Should Do

Punjab CERT is urging all Apple users and system administrators to take immediate action by installing the recommended updates.
