The National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) Pakistan has sounded an urgent alarm over a sharp rise in cyberattacks targeting individuals, businesses, and government systems across the country.
In its latest advisory, CERT revealed that cybercriminals are exploiting peak internet usage periods and major upcoming events to launch large-scale phishing scams, deploy malware, set up fake websites, and infiltrate vulnerable networks. The agency warns that these highly coordinated and increasingly sophisticated attacks have significantly elevated Pakistan’s cybersecurity risk level.
